Welcome to the new official website of Kilrea Pipe Band which replaces www.freewebs.com/kilreapipeband.

Kilrea is a town in Co. Londonderry in N. Ireland situated close to the River Bann. It is about fifteen miles from the Coleraine, thirteen from Ballymena and ten from Ballymoney.

Kilrea Pipe Band made its first public appearance in July 1923 and has since that time taken part in a wide range of activities. It currently wears the Muted Cameron of Erracht tartan. Please have a look at the photograph galleries.

The Band currently competes in Grade 4B and is always keen to welcome new members, either learners or experienced players, to its practices on either Monday or Wednesday evenings. Check out the Piping and Drumming Tuition page on this website for more information on a series of piping and drumming classes for beginners, supported by the Ulster-Scots Agency, which began with an information evening on Wednesday 8th October 2008 at 7.30 pm in Kilrea Orange Hall. If you missed this event, it is still possible to join the classes.

If you wish to contact the Band to find out about becoming a member, sponsoring it or hiring it for a concert or other such occasion, please contact the Band using the email address info@kilreapipeband.com.

It would also be great to receive any copies of photographs of the band from any time period or to hear from any former members

The Band would like to hear from anyone who would be interested in becoming a reserve bass drummer.

The Band is holding an anniversary dinner to mark 85 years since its first public performance. This will be held in Kilrea Orange Hall on Friday 21st November 2008 and all current and past members are invited. For further information email info@kilreapipeband.com

For where the Band can next be seen, check out the 2008 Events Diary.
